Incorporating Gippsland Crematorium and Traralgon Cemetery

Burial Options

A range of burial options is available in the Traralgon Cemetery. In addition to the popular monumental and lawn graves, the cemetery also has available Vaults, Monumental Lawn Graves a Mausoleum and Children's Lawn.

Monumental Graves: The original Monumental areas were arranged by religious denominations and provide the option to have either a plaque or a monument. Once existing denominational areas are filled, future monumental graves will be in non-denominational areas.

Lawn Graves: Lawn Graves are in non-denominational areas. Placement of a bronze plaque is included in the cost of burial. The person authorising burial is requested to provide wording for the plaque four weeks after the burial. Apart from the plaque and flowers in the vases provided no other material is permitted on the headstone.

Monumental Lawn Graves: Graves in the Monumental Lawn are set out in rows. The Monumental Lawn is non-denominational and the design of the headstone is standard.

Concrete Lined Graves (Vaults): Concrete lined graves, commonly refered to as vaults, each have reinforced concrete lining . Concrete lined graves allow for two caskets that are separated by sand and then sealed with reinforced concrete after each interment. Monuments are normally erected on the vault.

Infant & Childrens Lawn Cemetery: The Infant/Childrens Lawn Cemetery is an all-inclusive package that includes the right of burial, interment and bronze plaque.

Infant Memorial: Adjoining the Childrens Lawn is an infant Memorial. This memorial can accomodate small plaques and provides comfort to families whose infants were buried in unmarked graves.

Mausoleum: The trust has recently established a Mausoleum. Family and single crypts will be available for purchase.
